Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: 17 September 2026

8ctoMath keeps each child's progress on your own device, so in most cases deleting it is entirely in your hands and takes a few seconds. This page lists every way to do it.

Delete one child

In the app, open Parents from the main screen, pass the grown-ups' gate, and go to Children. Choose the child and tap Delete.

This removes that child's name, levels, clams, stickers and statistics. If the family is signed in for backup, it removes them from the backup too, and from every other device signed in to the same account. The last remaining child cannot be deleted — add another first, or remove everything at once as below.

Delete everything on the device

Uninstall 8ctoMath. The app keeps its files in its own private storage, which Android removes together with the app, so every child's progress on that device goes with it.

If the family was signed in for backup, uninstalling does not delete the backup — it is meant to survive exactly this. Delete the account as well if you want nothing left.

Delete the backup account

Only relevant if you signed in for backup; without an account there is nothing stored off the device. In the app, open Parents → Backup and choose Delete account, confirming with your password or your Google account.

This deletes the account and everything stored with it, for good and without a recovery period. The children stay on the device you are holding, now unbacked; delete them separately, or uninstall, if you want them gone as well.

Ask us to delete it

If you cannot reach the app — a lost or broken device, for instance — email hi@8cto.net from the address the account was created with, saying that you would like the account and its data deleted. We will confirm and delete it within 30 days, and normally within a few working days.

Because we hold nothing that identifies a person beyond that account email address, this is the only kind of request we are able to act on. If you never created an account, there is nothing on our side to delete.

What is kept, and for how long

We keep no backups of our own, no analytics store and no mailing list, so there is nowhere else for a copy to sit.
